Four Generations and Counting
In 1938,"WJ" Wallace started his hardware business called Wallace Builders Supply. WJ ran this store by himself for over 30 years. This lasted until Wilbur's son and daughter, Wilbur Wallace and Gail, were born.
Wilbur Wallace along with his sister Gail, helped to run the Builders Supply until WJ's death in 2002. After this, Wilbur and Gail co-owned and ran the business as partners. During this time after WJ's death, Wilbur's son, Cody Wallace, began to work at the store full time.
Once Cody came to the store, he began to think of ways to expand the business. In 2013 Cody and Wilbur took over the old City Lumber building in Bremen to begin their new business adventure. Today, Cody and Wilbur run Wallace Building Center as a separate business from Wallace Building Supply.
Homer Wallace was the first of the family to start the store in the 1930's. The store began as a small general store for common goods. When Homer's son WJ began working at the store, they began leaving the general store view behind as they began to act more as a small Hardware store.
Wallace Building Center is a locally and family owned business. The Wallace family has lived in the West Georgia, area for over 100 years. When you buy Wallace, you buy local!
